About the event
Description: Spend 2 days composing your own art piece with plants harvested from my extensive native gardens. Then learn Gabriel Franklin’s method for casting them into a durable gypsum, with the option to add color accents. View his website here; The Art of Plaster.
What you learn:
• how to choose botanicals that will create interesting castings
• how to create a simple mold & compose your piece
• what type of gypsum to use
• how to mix the gypsum & pour your casting
• pulling the gypsum from the mold & cleaning it
• how to make a pigmented milk paint to add color washes to your piece
Project: You will make your own botanical casting to take home! Using plants/flowers from my garden & making them eternal.
